The Marisco Medical Centre is based in Mablethorpe, a popular east coast holiday location. Their patient list is 11,000 rising to 20,000 in the holiday season.
With this project, Dr Tonge and partners wanted new premises close to their existing practice. This posed a significant challenge due to the location in the town centre, in a conservation area.
This project involved two separate practices coming together under one roof to create a primary care centre housing fifteen doctors. Primary Asset was set a near impossible task by Walsall PCT – to find a suitable site in an extremely built up residential area.
Primary Asset was asked by Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust to develop a “one-stop shop” and bring together five individual medical practices, social services and community health under one roof.
Lytham Primary Care Centre is located on the site of the former Lytham Hospital where there has been a health care presence since 1871. A sensitive demolition process was required to allow the adjoining mental health unit to be carefully separated from the former hospital buildings.
Farndon Green Medical Centre were practicing in a converted house and required larger and more up to date facilities to serve the local community.
Due to the close proximity of local houses and traffic from the adjacent supermarket, Primary Asset paid particular attention to minimising disruption and inconvenience throughout the construction process.
Outdated and overcrowded premises led Dr Tavaré and Partners to approach Primary Asset to secure an already identified site upon which to construct a new purpose built health centre.
Doctors in the village of Bassingham were working from very overcrowded premises and needed re-housing urgently to enable them to provide up-to-date medical care for their local community and the surrounding villages that they also serve.
