Primary Asset was asked by Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust to develop a “one-stop shop” and bring together five individual medical practices, social services and community health under one roof.
The practices were based in old or unsuitable premises, but rather than amalgamate they wanted to retain their individual identities. The new site was developed, by assembling four pieces of land, to make a single plot site large enough to accommodate the scheme.
The Darlaston Health Centre provides purpose built facilities not only for the five practices, but also accommodation for over 60 social services staff and a pharmacy. The car park accommodates over 150 cars.
